Siobhan is a personal trainer and online coach. She originally studied Maths in college but her passion for training and healthy living encouraged her to take a risk and change careers. A risk that has proved worthwhile.
Siobhan struggled with her weight growing up and tried every fad diet and exercise plan. For this reason she finds she can relate well to other peoples' frustrations and struggles with fat loss and muscle building. Siobhan took her education and dedication and transformed her own body. Now she is helping others feel good about themselves, both physically and mentally through exercising and eating well.

I’ve been there before, making up excuses to get out of social events out of fear of ruining my diet. The stress of answering everyone’s, “Ah just have one?” questions are too much so decide its less stressful stay at home watching Netflix. Meanwhile, as the months roll by, you can sense your friendships slowly but surely dissolving. You’ve become that gym girl who doesn’t know how to have fun. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE nights in chilling and watching Netflix even more now that I've the knowledge to know how to go travel, go to festivals, have my girls nights outs and never feel deprived!
It took me years to learn that there’s a balance and it exists! Can you be in shape and social? Yep, you can. The key is having the know-how and understanding of your own body.
A few years ago, I was a cardio believer, out running the in run every night after work thinking I'd get into great shape! Sure I kept busy, but it was doing nothing to into the shape I wanted. I was fairly miserable, not liking my body, and never looking forward to putting on my runners and heading out. Exercise become a pain and source of stress – exactly the opposite of what it should be.
Today, I don’t do any steady state cardio. I lift heavy a few days a week, throw a few metabolic session now and then and walk everyday.
How many of the Furnace ladies do cardio to get lean? None. They train like I do – short, sharp and enjoyable.
Fair enough if you enjoy a nice jog on the beach but you won't be asked to run any 10k's here!
